Problem

The local checkout was carrying uncommitted tooling files: bd init and Gas City ignore rules, a direnv .envrc, and the Gas City project identity file. They showed up as noise in every status, and they block pulls.

Solution

  • .gitignore: adds the beads, Dolt and Gas City rules. .beads/ stays local except identity.toml, and .beads.gate.lock is ignored too.
  • .envrc: direnv puts node_modules/.bin on PATH.
  • .beads/identity.toml: Gas City's canonical project id. It holds no secrets.

Dropped instead of committed: a "packageManager": "pnpm@9.12.0" line some tool had added to package.json. This repo uses Bun (mise.toml), and corepack would otherwise enforce pnpm.
