Problem

The online companion is merged and passes its automated tests, but no person has used it yet: not the guest site on a real phone, not the console's Go online control or requests panel, and not real Spotify search.

Solution

docs/uat-online-companion.md is a checklist for doing that, following the format of docs/uat-6.2-weight-calibration.md:

  • Setup: a copy of the library, a test DJ token seeded into it, and the phone on the same Wi-Fi. These steps were dry-run on this machine, including a phone-style request over the local network.
  • Part A (fake Spotify and a fake search catalog): going online, guest sign-in, following the set, requests (badges, the 3-request cap, queue and unqueue, dismiss, library stubs, the requests playlist), losing the venue's internet, and ending the set.
  • Part B (the real Spotify app and real search): the first real test of Spotify's app-only search.
  • Findings table: two issues found while writing are already in it. Neither blocks production:
    • the console's online status text hard-codes the production URL
    • renaming the set after going online doesn't reach guests
  • Not covered locally, because they need the deploy or the cele2e rig: real Authentik sign-in, Caddy routing and WebSockets, backup and restore.
