Problem

The UAT tested on a copy of the library, with a fake Spotify player and a fake search catalog. The DJ would rather run it the way a real set runs.

Solution

The fake pass is gone. Setup now:

  • stores the test DJ token in library.db
  • runs the app server with real Spotify search
  • runs the console with bun start, driving the Spotify app

Search goes first, as step 0, because Spotify's app-only login is unverified for this app. Everything about requests depends on it. If it fails, the doc says to stop and record the error.

Changes to fit a real library:

  • The badge check asks you to request a track you've already excluded, because the console has no undo for excluding.
  • The setup lists what testing leaves behind, all of it what production would do anyway: needs-review tracks for requested new tracks, test plays, requests, and a test token that the first real sign-in replaces.
  • "Clean up" has an optional query to remove test sets' plays, so they don't skew candidate recency.
